Welcome To The New DigiLink History

History

Our Story

In April 2000, —Michael Wight, James Lerner, Hank Russo and Ed Hartman—founded DigiLink, an independent prepress company featuring state-of-the-art technology and 24-hour-a-day capabilities. With more than 75 combined years of industry experience, they set out to serve customers with the utmost flexibility, knowledge, and innovation. Above all, they aimed to anticipate clients’ needs rather than merely respond.

Thanks to the founders commitment to these goals, the company has grown rapidly. In 2002, DigiLink added it first printing press and binder. Mailing services and a six-pocket stitcher followed four years later, allowing DigiLink to provide a full array of high-quality pre-press, printing, binding, and mailing services.

Today, DigiLink ranks as one of the nation’s largest single-source providers of comprehensive prepress services as well as one of the most successful innovative printers. We’ve expanded our facilities three times in eight years, adding more up-to-date equipment to better serve an ever-growing client list. We now serve a wide range of premiere publications, museums, associations, corporations, advertising agencies, catalog and book publishers. And our attention to quality has earned us an unparalleled reputation across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Publishing Executive and Printing Impressions magazines have honored us with Gold Ink Awards for outstanding quality, three years in a row. The U.S. Postal Service named us Small Business Mailer of the Year in 2006.

At DigiLink, a commitment to environmental conscientiousness has always gone hand in hand with our commitment to quality. In 2005, we earned Chain-of-Custody certification from the Forest Stewardship Council—the industry’s most rigorous and most credible assurance of social and environmental responsibility. We use waterless based inks that contain vegetable based oil, with low - volatile organic compounds. That not only helps conserver oil resources, but also helps reduce a major source of pollution in the printing industry.

In March 2008, we moved to a new 38,000-square-foot facility that allows us to consolidate our printing, binding, and mailing services at one location for greater efficiency. It also gives us plenty of room to grow, so the future looks even brighter.
